What a dick move on Dell's part to keep people buying OEM chargers.

Neat! Up here it was about the same as a hazy day - not very noticeable. I think I'll have a better view in seven years.

I found a cheap screen. I think e-ink looks great - it's so close to real paper. I'm looking forward to reading some books on mine.

Yeah it popped apart really easily. You shouldn't have any problems.

That'll be interesting. I'd like to see how it's done.

The Kindle was totally dead. After fully charging, it comes to life and after updating the firmware, is able to take it online via its 3G modem that offers free internet for the life of the device. It's exceptionally slow and the browser is extremely limited because, well, it's an e-ink display with a processor powered by a hamster wheel. Still, it's a neat device for reading Wikipedia and the battery life with wireless off is absolutely stellar. I have a new screen coming in from China - I'll post some pics once it's arrived.

How did you make out with your Kindle recovery?

I just picked up a Kindle 3 (D00901) with a busted screen. I'm trying to find a replacement screen that's reasonable but so far they're pretty pricey considering a replacement device is around $30-40.

Oh brother. Must have been a slow night so they're out looking for trouble. That could have ended much worse.

Both accounts were created a month apart in 2002. He's been around a lot longer than I have - I'm sure febay is well aware of the accounts but looks the other way because he brings in so much money. I got my refunds so I'm done.

I almost was ripped off by two different febay sellers. I bought two cheap watches from two Indian febay users. When they eventually arrived a month later from India, they originated from the same address. So it's a guy with multiple accounts trying to dodge all the negative feedback he's been getting.

Both watches were broken in different ways: one ran too slowly and the other was dead with a misaligned dial. The guy ignored everything febay and I said... and eventually febay forced a refund for both. It's the first time I've had to get febay involved. Apparently the guy is big enough that febay leaves him alone for the most part, despite so much negative feedback.

People walk the way they drive. Lucky she wasn't behind the wheel.

Good idea. How long do you run them for before you feel the items are sanitized?

Security guard confronted the thief and got his arm slashed and could have been killed over $73 worth of diapers. Was it worth it? It's not my money - I'd let the guy go.
