Another Scary Pig Encounter
« on: June 29, 2017, 09:42:05 AM »
Did a short run onto the bike pusher's stomping grounds last night. Headlights and then spotlight 30 seconds after I shut down in the restaurant parking lot across the street from my food stop. Cop shines his flashlight in my eyes and says "Your eyes are glazed, what are you on!". I tell him "nothing". He tells me to follow his flashlight with my eyes, keeps this up for 2 minutes. Asks all sorts of questions...where I'm coming from, going to, how long on the road etc. He says "this looks seriously suspicious" like making use of a restaurant parking lot after hours is the weirdest thing he's seen in 20 years. Backup arrives. They have me get out of the car and claim my license plate lights don't work. I light them up and they confirm they work after all. Cop says he smells weed. I tell him I smell a skunk (there was the smell of one in the area). I also tell him I have no weed, not my thing (true). He's curious about my black garbage bags and wants to look in them. I tell him he can if he wants to. He has me walk towards the other cop 10 feet away with my back to my car. This is when they'll drop the bag of drugs in your stuff if they have a mind to do so. Fortunately he didn't. I don't think he even looked in one bag, I heard no rustling. He sees my gas cans and first accuses me of trying to get high on fumes while driving. Then he makes me out to be suicidal..."You're stressed out and trying to end it all here tonight by huffing the gas?" Once again I tell him "Not my thing". I was super chill the whole time in spite of him trying his best to get me riled. Then he says "I'm a pig...do you want to beat the shit out of me right now?" I had a hard time not busting out laughing - held it in. They eventually give up, hand me back my license and take off. All this from state cops out of their jurisdiction in a city parking lot.

Oh brother. Must have been a slow night so they're out looking for trouble. That could have ended much worse.

It's always a slow night around here, not enough criminals to keep them busy. Almost all violent crime in the area is domestic, petty theft is usually as bad as it gets in the business districts.

In my area crime is rising drastically. I have been hit up for money two times in the last couple weeks, something that would never happen 10 years ago in this area. I was asked for money at a gas station by a guy who looked shady and kept his hands in his pockets. Had me wishing I had my gun on my side. I think it is only going to get worse. A very powerful undercurrent of impoverished drug addicts are about to sweep the nation and add to the sluggish economy.
