I'll be switching to a different TV provider (Dish) later this year. Satellites in a different direction than where my internet and previous dishes are pointed. Lots of trees on the property. I was pretty sure the existing pole would not see clear sky in a different direction, and I was right.

At various times every spring and fall, the sun and/or moon will position themselves directly behind the satellites. You enter your GPS coordinates and the satellite position(s) you will be pointing for. The app tells you the exact days and times when sunlight on your dish means it will be able to see the satellite.:

Very useful if you're a do-it-yourselfer who likes to make it easy on yourself.....or if you have a lazy installer that is telling you that you can't get signal.
